TEBAR A.Ş. Completed Its Accreditation Process!
Following the completion of its laboratory investment in May 2008, TEBAR A.Ş. began offering testing services to manufacturers. During the same period, work was carried out to establish a quality management system and infrastructure complying with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories, in order to improve the quality infrastructure of Türkiye's insulation market and provide independent and impartial services.
Following the establishment of its quality management system, TEBAR A.Ş. applied to the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement on 07.08.2008 for notified body designation for thermal insulation boards and waterproofing sheets covered by the 89/106/EEC Construction Products Regulation, which must be placed on domestic and international markets with CE marking. After the preliminary assessment of the application file was successfully completed, technical evaluation of TEBAR A.Ş.'s application began under the protocol signed by the Ministry and the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK). At this stage, in addition to its notified body application, TEBAR applied for accreditation on 27.10.2008.
The accreditation and notified body assessments based on TEBAR A.Ş.'s applications were completed on 21–22–23 January 2009. Following the assessments, TÜRKAK made its accreditation decision on 14 April 2009. Operating under accreditation number AB-0302-T since April, TEBAR issues test reports bearing the accreditation logo to companies that request them. TEBAR A.Ş., the testing laboratory with the most extensive accreditation scope in the insulation industry, is Türkiye's first accredited laboratory for waterproofing and its second for thermal insulation.
