Ignitability Tests for EPS, XPS and PUR/PIR Manufacturers at TEBAR

Manufacturers of thermal insulation materials are required to carry out a series of tests for factory production control. These include reaction-to-fire classification. For thermal insulation materials such as EPS, XPS and polyurethane, most of which have a reaction-to-fire class of E, the manufacturer is only required to carry out ignitability tests. These tests are also carried out by notified testing laboratories as part of the CE marking process.

The relevant product standards state that "ignitability tests must be carried out once a day when uncertified raw materials are used." Footnote "h" in the same table states that "the test frequency is once a week when the raw material is certified."

TEBAR A.Ş. supports manufacturers with its infrastructure for carrying out ignitability tests on thermal insulation materials with a reaction-to-fire class of E.
